21 lakh employees got new jobs

If an employee’s salary is less than ₹ 15000 and he is a member of EPFO, he will be provided with the benefit of this scheme only if he has lost his job between May 1, 2020, and September 30 2020. During this period, the employee should not be associated with any company which is registered with EPFO.

16.5 lakh beneficiaries got the benefit of the scheme

The Aatmnirbhar India Employment Scheme has been started to compensate for the loss of employment during the corona transition. Under this scheme, the employee’s provident fund will be contributed by the government for two years on the new appointment. This contribution will be 12%–12% of the salary. Employers will be encouraged to create employment through this scheme. So far, about 16.5 lakh citizens have been benefited from this scheme. Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar has given this information in Rajya Sabha on March 17 2021. The Aatmnirbhar India Employment Scheme will be implemented through Employees Provident Fund Organization.

Apart from it, it was also informed by the Labor Minister that Rs 2567.66 crore had been deposited in the EPF account for 38.82 lakh employees under the PMGKY scheme.
